Narrative:
WX: scattered unrestr visibility. Other aircraft: military C17, flying an assigned MTR which unfortunately crosses our FBO practice area D. (Second occurrence: first one not reported, occurred 2 months ago.) flying straight and level at approximately 1500 ft MSL, took evasive action. Cessna 172RG cutlass: I was practicing ground reference and performance commercial maneuvers at 1800 ft MSL in practice area D. Out of a lazy 8, find myself on converging course. Also took evasive action (I was 1650 ft AGL). All this report is about the second C17 encounter. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that some other pilots from the flight school have experienced similar incidents. The flight school is located at conway airport. It appears there are 2 military rtes that intersect in the area. One is a vr route and one is an ir route. Reporter was advised of the hotline number. It was also recommended that he contact the local FSDO to inform them of the problem.
