Narrative:
While at cruise at FL190, I heard a thump in the left engine. I then started losing torque and was unable to maintain altitude. Therefore, I went below my assigned altitude. I then was cleared direct to the srb airport. I did not declare an emergency because the loss was not severe enough to warrant declaring an emergency. I landed with no incident.

Title: PLT OF A CARGO SA226 METROLINER DIVERTED TO LAND AFTER HEARING A THUMP FROM THE L ENG AND THE LOSS OF ENG TORQUE.
Narrative: WHILE AT CRUISE AT FL190, I HEARD A THUMP IN THE L ENG. I THEN STARTED LOSING TORQUE AND WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN ALT. THEREFORE, I WENT BELOW MY ASSIGNED ALT. I THEN WAS CLRED DIRECT TO THE SRB ARPT. I DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER BECAUSE THE LOSS WAS NOT SEVERE ENOUGH TO WARRANT DECLARING AN EMER. I LANDED WITH NO INCIDENT.
