Narrative:
On departing runway 20 initial assigned altitude was 3000 ft. With quite a lot of traffic in pattern and clear VFR WX, missed leveling off at 3000 ft by 500 ft. All my attention was outside aircraft.

Narrative: ON DEPARTING RWY 20 INITIAL ASSIGNED ALT WAS 3000 FT. WITH QUITE A LOT OF TFC IN PATTERN AND CLR VFR WX, MISSED LEVELING OFF AT 3000 FT BY 500 FT. ALL MY ATTN WAS OUTSIDE ACFT.
