Narrative:
I was on the last leg of a 4 leg trip, and our paperwork called for an aircraft swap. We arrived at paradise island, bahamas at XX30. Our newly assigned aircraft was already parked at the #1 spot. We parked at the #2 spot. The first officer and myself secured the aircraft and made the proper shutdown checklist. I took my bag to the new assigned aircraft and performed ground system checks, while first officer did the walkaround. 2 hours later, we boarded the aircraft and proceeded to west palm beach, fl. We landed at approximately XX30. I remained inside the aircraft while the first officer did the postflt walkaround. It was there that he discovered that the left wingtip had been slightly damaged. I notified my company and an inspector was sent to check the aircraft. Lesson learned: always perform a visual inspection prior to accepting an aircraft even if someone else has performed the inspection.
