Narrative:

We showed for work at XA00 am local time at the montrose, colorado (mtj), airport, for air carrier flight xx. I proceeded out to the aircraft where I conducted an external preflight inspection using a flashlight. The captain remained inside awaiting our release. I noted no abnormalities during my preflight inspection. I reported this to the captain. We departed mtj on runway 17 with a wind of 110 degrees/7 KTS, rotation and climb out were normal, via the mtj IFR departure procedure, the cruise portion was normal. Landing phx runway 8L was normal and uneventful. Upon shutdown I again performed the exterior walkaround inspection and noted nothing abnormal. The receiving crew noted a scuff mark on the rubber tail bumper skid, and reported it to maintenance. This prompted the chief pilot to request a written report from the captain about our flight. The aircraft was later cleared for flight by maintenance. The rubber tail skid scuff may have been caused by previous crew landing mtj that night or just by glycol during deice procedures (deterioration).

I PROCEEDED OUT TO THE ACFT WHERE I CONDUCTED AN EXTERNAL PREFLT INSPECTION USING A FLASHLIGHT. THE CAPT REMAINED INSIDE AWAITING OUR RELEASE. I NOTED NO ABNORMALITIES DURING MY PREFLT INSPECTION. I RPTED THIS TO THE CAPT. WE DEPARTED MTJ ON RWY 17 WITH A WIND OF 110 DEGS/7 KTS, ROTATION AND CLBOUT WERE NORMAL, VIA THE MTJ IFR DEP PROC, THE CRUISE PORTION WAS NORMAL. LNDG PHX RWY 8L WAS NORMAL AND UNEVENTFUL. UPON SHUTDOWN I AGAIN PERFORMED THE EXTERIOR WALKAROUND INSPECTION AND NOTED NOTHING ABNORMAL. THE RECEIVING CREW NOTED A SCUFF MARK ON THE RUBBER TAIL BUMPER SKID, AND RPTED IT TO MAINT. THIS PROMPTED THE CHIEF PLT TO REQUEST A WRITTEN RPT FROM THE CAPT ABOUT OUR FLT. THE ACFT WAS LATER CLRED FOR FLT BY MAINT. THE RUBBER TAIL SKID SCUFF MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY PREVIOUS CREW LNDG MTJ THAT NIGHT OR JUST BY GLYCOL DURING DEICE PROCS (DETERIORATION).
