Title: AN ACR ACFT LOSES 300 FT IN ALT WHEN UNEXPECTED TURB CREATES A TEMPORARY LOSS OF ACFT CTL. THE CREW FLIES BACK TO ASSIGNED ALT WITHOUT ATC NOTIFICATION.
Narrative: LOST 300 FT WHEN EXPERIENCING MODERATE TURB IN CLOUDS AT 17000 FT MSL. IMMEDIATELY CLBED BACK TO 17000 FT FROM 16700 FT.
