Narrative:
Approach control issued clearance 'cross grene at or above 2700 ft, cleared ILS runway 4 approach.' shortly after, approach sent us to lga tower. We called tower inside grene. Tower said, 'cleared to circle to runway 31.' we said that, 'approach cleared us for the ILS to runway 4' tower then told us to continue. On short final, we received landing clearance to land on runway 4. After landing on ground frequency, ground asked us if we had the current ATIS and said lga was flying the ILS to runway 4, circle to land runway 31. We stated we had approach clearance for the runway 4 ILS. Supplemental information from acn 429362: on short final, I requested clearance to land, which was granted.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B767-200 FLC PERFORMS AN ILS APCH TO LGA RWY 4 AND PLANS AND REQUESTS A STRAIGHT-IN LNDG TO RWY 4 AFTER ATIS HAD BROADCAST THAT ILS APCHS TO RWY 4 WERE IN PROGRESS WITH A CIRCLE TO RWY 31.
Narrative: APCH CTL ISSUED CLRNC 'CROSS GRENE AT OR ABOVE 2700 FT, CLRED ILS RWY 4 APCH.' SHORTLY AFTER, APCH SENT US TO LGA TWR. WE CALLED TWR INSIDE GRENE. TWR SAID, 'CLRED TO CIRCLE TO RWY 31.' WE SAID THAT, 'APCH CLRED US FOR THE ILS TO RWY 4' TWR THEN TOLD US TO CONTINUE. ON SHORT FINAL, WE RECEIVED LNDG CLRNC TO LAND ON RWY 4. AFTER LNDG ON GND FREQ, GND ASKED US IF WE HAD THE CURRENT ATIS AND SAID LGA WAS FLYING THE ILS TO RWY 4, CIRCLE TO LAND RWY 31. WE STATED WE HAD APCH CLRNC FOR THE RWY 4 ILS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 429362: ON SHORT FINAL, I REQUESTED CLRNC TO LAND, WHICH WAS GRANTED.
