Narrative:
On arrival at xyz I was notified that there was damage to the left wingtip tail light assembly by the ground crew. This was verified. It is believed the damage might have been caused by ground services in ZZZ who arrived at the aircraft right before departure time to fix a wet carpet in the rear galley. I questioned our flight engineer who assured me that during his walkaround there was no such damage which was previous to the arrival of ground services in ZZZ. I notified dispatcher in ZZZ when this event became known to me. Also there was blue paint on the tail light assembly.
