Narrative:

There was a lot of radio traffic on the frequency. When center handed us off to frequency 133.05 we heard it as 133.50. We were also cleared off of a vector to iiu VOR at the same time. It took a few mins to locate the correct frequency and in that time our turn to iiu was delayed by about 20 degrees. When we did establish communication with the correct frequency we asked if they were looking for us. They said 'yes, but no problem.' contributing factors would be congestion on the frequency.
