Narrative:
This was the classic and terrible case of taxiing past the assigned runway (runway 15L) and into position and hold on the incorrect parallel runway (runway 15R). I even correctly acknowledged tower instructions and had 2 other qualified pilots in the aircraft with me. I still have been unable to rationalize my action since I am totally familiar with the airport and the intersecting runways and txwys. Much of my flying is of a law enforcement/search and rescue nature where communication and awareness is so critical. For the rest of the flight, I asked both crew members to 'please' speak up if they see me 'do anything' that catches their attention (CRM). For my part, I believe I must have been concentrating on too many items and in the future will stop the airplane before committing/acknowledging clearance onto any runway.
