Narrative:
Cleared taxi for takeoff runway 15 at ack airport with ATIS information. Landing runway 6. I consulted taxi chart and proceeded towards runway 15. Ground asked if I intended to run up. I said yes and they directed me to a paved exit area on the ramp. When finished they cleared me to resume taxi and contact tower. I exited this runup area via a left turn followed by a right turn. I thought I was on the main taxiway but then realized I was actually on the takeoff runway. I contacted tower and was cleared for takeoff with no comment from tower. I did not see any runway reminder signage before I entered the runway. Nor did I observe any pavement markings. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he taxied on taxiway east and turned off onto the ramp towards taxiway F for the runup. It was turning from that spot that he entered the runway having seen no signage or hold lines indicating runway 15. There was no conflict as the runway was in use for takeoffs only at that time.

Title: PLT OF C177 MISTAKENLY TAXIES ONTO RWY AFTER RUNUP. NO SIGNS OR HOLD LINES WERE SIGHTED.
Narrative: CLRED TAXI FOR TKOF RWY 15 AT ACK ARPT WITH ATIS INFO. LNDG RWY 6. I CONSULTED TAXI CHART AND PROCEEDED TOWARDS RWY 15. GND ASKED IF I INTENDED TO RUN UP. I SAID YES AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO A PAVED EXIT AREA ON THE RAMP. WHEN FINISHED THEY CLRED ME TO RESUME TAXI AND CONTACT TWR. I EXITED THIS RUNUP AREA VIA A L TURN FOLLOWED BY A R TURN. I THOUGHT I WAS ON THE MAIN TXWY BUT THEN REALIZED I WAS ACTUALLY ON THE TKOF RWY. I CONTACTED TWR AND WAS CLRED FOR TKOF WITH NO COMMENT FROM TWR. I DID NOT SEE ANY RWY REMINDER SIGNAGE BEFORE I ENTERED THE RWY. NOR DID I OBSERVE ANY PAVEMENT MARKINGS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE TAXIED ON TXWY E AND TURNED OFF ONTO THE RAMP TOWARDS TXWY F FOR THE RUNUP. IT WAS TURNING FROM THAT SPOT THAT HE ENTERED THE RWY HAVING SEEN NO SIGNAGE OR HOLD LINES INDICATING RWY 15. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AS THE RWY WAS IN USE FOR TKOFS ONLY AT THAT TIME.
