Narrative:

During climb to an assigned altitude of 15000 ft, I became distraction by my earplugs and headset. When I noticed the altitude it was about 250 ft above assigned, so I started a descent but was then cleared to a higher altitude. This event obviously happened because of my inattn. I think that this could have been prevented by an altitude alerting device with audio and visual alerts.
