Narrative:

During the approach segment the crew was distraction due to TA by approach control and the TCASII. Crew had the aircraft in sight (VMC) and saw that we were diverging so we did not take evasive action. We were then cleared immediately to 4000 ft and were told to look for traffic that we would follow to runway 36R. (We had completed the brief for runway 36R and set bug speeds.) we turned base and approach switched us to runway 36L. We briefed runway 36L, however, due to the distrs, we failed to call for the preliminary landing checklist. As a result, the hydraulic pumps were missed and we did not get a nose gear down indication. We did a go around, used the QRH manual, idented the problem and landed without incident.

Narrative: DURING THE APCH SEGMENT THE CREW WAS DISTR DUE TO TA BY APCH CTL AND THE TCASII. CREW HAD THE ACFT IN SIGHT (VMC) AND SAW THAT WE WERE DIVERGING SO WE DID NOT TAKE EVASIVE ACTION. WE WERE THEN CLRED IMMEDIATELY TO 4000 FT AND WERE TOLD TO LOOK FOR TFC THAT WE WOULD FOLLOW TO RWY 36R. (WE HAD COMPLETED THE BRIEF FOR RWY 36R AND SET BUG SPDS.) WE TURNED BASE AND APCH SWITCHED US TO RWY 36L. WE BRIEFED RWY 36L, HOWEVER, DUE TO THE DISTRS, WE FAILED TO CALL FOR THE PRELIMINARY LNDG CHKLIST. AS A RESULT, THE HYD PUMPS WERE MISSED AND WE DID NOT GET A NOSE GEAR DOWN INDICATION. WE DID A GAR, USED THE QRH MANUAL, IDENTED THE PROB AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
