Narrative:
Cruise at FL350. ATC cleared to descend to FL290 and slow to 290 KT speed and change to 126.12. Checked in descending to FL290. Approximately 5 mins later, center informed us we were supposed to be at FL310 and 290 KTS. We were told it was not a problem. Do not recall any distrs at the time. FL290 was set in the altitude alerter and we checked in descending to FL290.

Narrative: CRUISE AT FL350. ATC CLRED TO DSND TO FL290 AND SLOW TO 290 KT SPD AND CHANGE TO 126.12. CHKED IN DSNDING TO FL290. APPROX 5 MINS LATER, CTR INFORMED US WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AT FL310 AND 290 KTS. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT A PROB. DO NOT RECALL ANY DISTRS AT THE TIME. FL290 WAS SET IN THE ALT ALERTER AND WE CHKED IN DSNDING TO FL290.
