Called ground for pushback out of gate, SOP. ATC had no clearance for us and to contact clearance delivery. Told them we had pre departure clearance. He said that 'due to runway change (from west to south operations) several strips were dropped.' called clearance delivery and told we were #8 and to stand by. Clearance told several flts to refile flight plans. Since when does a runway change cause strips to drop?

Narrative: CALLED GND FOR PUSHBACK OUT OF GATE, SOP. ATC HAD NO CLRNC FOR US AND TO CONTACT CLRNC DELIVERY. TOLD THEM WE HAD PDC. HE SAID THAT 'DUE TO RWY CHANGE (FROM W TO S OPS) SEVERAL STRIPS WERE DROPPED.' CALLED CLRNC DELIVERY AND TOLD WE WERE #8 AND TO STAND BY. CLRNC TOLD SEVERAL FLTS TO REFILE FLT PLANS. SINCE WHEN DOES A RWY CHANGE CAUSE STRIPS TO DROP?
