Narrative:
Climbing via 355 degree heading, ZJX cleared to FL250. Heavy WX cells to the east. ZJX kept trying to vector us into WX. We informed them we wanted to avoid the cells and advised we needed westerly heading to avoid or higher altitude in order to avoid WX. We were denied both or either. We informed ZJX we weren't flying into a cell. ZJX said 'understand you're exercising your emergency authority/authorized, deviation approved.' we turned to heading 335 degrees for approximately 40 NM. Next controller cleared us direct irq and FL330.
