Narrative:
Purser handed me a note stating, 'we have a hydraulic problem, we're returning to the united states.' PA made by captain explained. He said due to high winds in bos and replacement aircraft in jfk, we'd return to jfk. An airbus qualified pilot in our cabin asked me to inquire which colored system was affected (blue, green, yellow)? Yellow was the answer given by our cockpit crew. We did not receive instructions to prepare for a possible emergency evacuate/evacuation. Emergency ground vehicles met flight upon landing, checked our aircraft, we taxied to gate. Landing seemed normal. When aircraft door was opened, pilots announced they were 'illegal' to take flight to ory. Cockpit and cabin crew laid over at jfk. Cabin crew deadheaded to bos on the following afternoon.
