Narrative:
On short final to easterwood field in college station, tx, at about 10 ft off the ground, the pitch portion of the controls jammed momentarily. The first officer was flying and was able to overpwr the jam. The landing was uneventful. After taxiing to the gate, postflt inspection revealed only a slight binding and associated noise coming from the base of the captain's control column. Maintenance was notified and a repair crew was dispatched. The next morning, after returning to the airport, we discussed the event with the mechanics who worked on the aircraft. Their findings indicated some kind of sealant had come in contact with the push rod and tube, which controls the stick pusher. A thorough cleaning was performed and approved maintenance was performed as per the air carrier and saab maintenance manuals. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the material that coated the push rod end was a sticky semi-hard sealant. The reporter said the source of the sealant and where it was supposed to be used was unknown. The reporter stated the aircraft was a saab 340B.

Title: A SAAB 340B ON LNDG AT APPROX 10 FT THE ELEVATOR CTL MOMENTARILY JAMMED CAUSED BY THE CAPT'S CTL COLUMN ROD ENDS CONTAMINATED WITH A SEALANT.
Narrative: ON SHORT FINAL TO EASTERWOOD FIELD IN COLLEGE STATION, TX, AT ABOUT 10 FT OFF THE GND, THE PITCH PORTION OF THE CTLS JAMMED MOMENTARILY. THE FO WAS FLYING AND WAS ABLE TO OVERPWR THE JAM. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. AFTER TAXIING TO THE GATE, POSTFLT INSPECTION REVEALED ONLY A SLIGHT BINDING AND ASSOCIATED NOISE COMING FROM THE BASE OF THE CAPT'S CTL COLUMN. MAINT WAS NOTIFIED AND A REPAIR CREW WAS DISPATCHED. THE NEXT MORNING, AFTER RETURNING TO THE ARPT, WE DISCUSSED THE EVENT WITH THE MECHS WHO WORKED ON THE ACFT. THEIR FINDINGS INDICATED SOME KIND OF SEALANT HAD COME IN CONTACT WITH THE PUSH ROD AND TUBE, WHICH CTLS THE STICK PUSHER. A THOROUGH CLEANING WAS PERFORMED AND APPROVED MAINT WAS PERFORMED AS PER THE ACR AND SAAB MAINT MANUALS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE MATERIAL THAT COATED THE PUSH ROD END WAS A STICKY SEMI-HARD SEALANT. THE RPTR SAID THE SOURCE OF THE SEALANT AND WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE USED WAS UNKNOWN. THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A SAAB 340B.
