Narrative:
On apr/xa/99, I was notified that the flight data recorder I changed on a previous day did not have the underwater locator beacon installed. This was my first time accomplishing this task. I referenced the F100 maintenance manual and performed the required task and tests. Neither the maintenance manual removal and replacement procedure nor the figures attached mention the underwater locator beacon changeover. If the maintenance manual had shown details of the underwater locator beacon being a sub assembly of the flight data recorder, I would have been alerted to its absence.
