Narrative:
ATC cleared for a hold. I thought the clearance was cleared for the hold with turn and approach. I began a descent to 3000 ft. Controller questioned me at 5000 ft. Said my clearance was only to 6000 ft.

Title: A PA28 INSTRUCTOR AND HIS STUDENT ON TRAINING FLT FAILED TO MAINTAIN THE ALT AS ASSIGNED BY ATC.
Narrative: ATC CLRED FOR A HOLD. I THOUGHT THE CLRNC WAS CLRED FOR THE HOLD WITH TURN AND APCH. I BEGAN A DSCNT TO 3000 FT. CTLR QUESTIONED ME AT 5000 FT. SAID MY CLRNC WAS ONLY TO 6000 FT.
