Narrative:
Exhausted fuel approximately 8 mi short of cew, airport of intended landing. Either tanks were not filled completely at hwo, or consumption was greater than normal. Established over past 10 yrs, normal consumption 10 gph, flight 4 1/3 hours. Capacity 52 gallons. Was able to 'nurse' aircraft to airport. No damage or incident.

Title: PLT FLYING AA5 DESCRIBES ENG FAILURE DUE TO FUEL EXHAUSTION AT CEW.
Narrative: EXHAUSTED FUEL APPROX 8 MI SHORT OF CEW, ARPT OF INTENDED LNDG. EITHER TANKS WERE NOT FILLED COMPLETELY AT HWO, OR CONSUMPTION WAS GREATER THAN NORMAL. ESTABLISHED OVER PAST 10 YRS, NORMAL CONSUMPTION 10 GPH, FLT 4 1/3 HRS. CAPACITY 52 GALLONS. WAS ABLE TO 'NURSE' ACFT TO ARPT. NO DAMAGE OR INCIDENT.
