Narrative:

During an approach to runway 21L at dtw under visual conditions, the left engine oil pressure low annunciator illuminated along with an oil pressure indication of 26 psi. Our airline's procedure requires a precautionary engine shutdown. I accomplished the procedure while the first officer flew the aircraft. We informed ATC of our situation and requested the airport fire and rescue equipment standby. We received priority handling by ATC for a normal landing to runway 21L. After clearing the runway and having our engine inspected by the fire captain, I noticed our left main gear inner brake was too hot for us to taxi to the gate. Maintenance came out to the aircraft determining that the brake had malfunctioned. The right main gear brakes were within the normal limits. Passenger and crew were bussed to the terminal.
