Narrative:

En route to psp. Our procedures are that we receive our clearance prior to taxi. The first officer on this particular flight received the clearance from teb clearance and it was coate was the provider for the flight plan. The flight plan had misprinted and the first officer inputted the data into the FMS prior to departure. The route should have continued after fnt on J16 but the first officer had inputted psp after that particular fix because of the misprinted flight plan which indicated psp as the next fix. During the initial turn to psp, the controller queried our clearance. We responded af. They issued a revised clearance (direct fmn drk pke psp). We read back the clearance and proceeded on course. The controllers did not indicate at any time that there was a problem of any kind during the reissuing of the clearance. To prevent this situation, I believe that we all should doublechk flight plan route segments with a full route clearance whenever there may be a discrepancy with a flight plan. In addition to this, I believe pilots should contact flight plan providers and ask they audit their flight information prior to forwarding the information to the crews.

Title: AN AIR TAXI FLC FLYING A G1159 TO PSP RPTS MISUNDERSTANDING WITH ATC OVER THEIR CLRED RTE RESULTING IN A TRACK DEV.

Narrative: ENRTE TO PSP. OUR PROCS ARE THAT WE RECEIVE OUR CLRNC PRIOR TO TAXI. THE FO ON THIS PARTICULAR FLT RECEIVED THE CLRNC FROM TEB CLRNC AND IT WAS COATE WAS THE PROVIDER FOR THE FLT PLAN. THE FLT PLAN HAD MISPRINTED AND THE FO INPUTTED THE DATA INTO THE FMS PRIOR TO DEP. THE RTE SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED AFTER FNT ON J16 BUT THE FO HAD INPUTTED PSP AFTER THAT PARTICULAR FIX BECAUSE OF THE MISPRINTED FLT PLAN WHICH INDICATED PSP AS THE NEXT FIX. DURING THE INITIAL TURN TO PSP, THE CTLR QUERIED OUR CLRNC. WE RESPONDED AF. THEY ISSUED A REVISED CLRNC (DIRECT FMN DRK PKE PSP). WE READ BACK THE CLRNC AND PROCEEDED ON COURSE. THE CTLRS DID NOT INDICATE AT ANY TIME THAT THERE WAS A PROB OF ANY KIND DURING THE REISSUING OF THE CLRNC. TO PREVENT THIS SIT, I BELIEVE THAT WE ALL SHOULD DOUBLECHK FLT PLAN RTE SEGMENTS WITH A FULL RTE CLRNC WHENEVER THERE MAY BE A DISCREPANCY WITH A FLT PLAN. IN ADDITION TO THIS, I BELIEVE PLTS SHOULD CONTACT FLT PLAN PROVIDERS AND ASK THEY AUDIT THEIR FLT INFO PRIOR TO FORWARDING THE INFO TO THE CREWS.
