Narrative:
Cockpit was unable to pressurize the cabin after takeoff. We diverted to lga and passenger were booked on another flight. After the mechanics evaluated the situation, they discovered an exterior valve that had been either opened or left open when we were in hpn. Mechanics closed the valve and we departed for ord with everything working property. The ground crew in hpn were not the airline's employees -- they were contracted out.
