Narrative:
While in a descent from 13000 ft to 10000 ft on the struk 8 arrival to houston hobby, ATC informed us of traffic at 2 O'clock at 8800 ft climbing. I informed him we did not have a visual or TCASII display. Seconds later, ATC gave us a 1 O'clock position and a 15 degree left turn. Supplemental information from acn 435191: we started the turn, immediately got a TA followed by an RA to climb. We stopped the descent at 10500 ft and climbed. The captain notified houston. We climbed to 11400 ft resolving the conflict. The TCASII showed the traffic to close to within approximately 1 1/2 mi and 400 ft below. We did not acquire the traffic visually, nor did the center know the identify. We returned to the arrival altitude and course completing the rest of the flight uneventfully.
