Narrative:

I just found in my flight paperwork that company has again approved lahso to ord runway 27L, 6500 ft, and ord runway 22R, 6050 ft for most aircraft. This is an unwise and unsafe decision and it is a matter of time before we see an incident -- or worse -- a ground collision. To include the B777 in the renewed operations further increases the risk of an incident as most pilots are still training or have very low time in type. I strongly recommend an immediate return to the previous 8000 ft lahso limits on all aircraft types. The lahso near collisions within the last yr or so -- one of them us -- justify a conservative approach to this dangerous problem. FYI: as of this spring, airline Y and airline Z -- whose pilots have substantial time in type -- are embargoing the program. The recent ZZZ incident highlights the dangers of putting aircraft on collision courses, and we do not need this program.
