Narrative:
On taking off from greene county airport, I had a near miss with a highway patrol C172. This event occurred as a result of many factors. Our airport is very hard to see due to grass runways. He was patrolling a new part of the highway, not familiar with area. I was cleaning the airplane up for safe flight, and the aircraft came from right to left and was in my blind spot the whole time. I didn't see the aircraft until he was underneath and past me, so no corrective action was taken. I'm not sure he saw me.
