Performed job card step 30. Checked by abc and found all items to be completed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated he had 2 yrs lead technician and 35 yrs technician experience. The reporter said his only involvement with the landing gear problem was to check the job cards for the proper signoff.

Title: A FOKKER 100 RELEASED FROM LNDG GEAR MAINT RETURNED TO THE FIELD WITH MAIN LNDG GEAR DOWN AND LOCK UNSAFE WARNING.
Narrative: PERFORMED JOB CARD STEP 30. CHKED BY ABC AND FOUND ALL ITEMS TO BE COMPLETED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED HE HAD 2 YRS LEAD TECHNICIAN AND 35 YRS TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE. THE RPTR SAID HIS ONLY INVOLVEMENT WITH THE LNDG GEAR PROB WAS TO CHK THE JOB CARDS FOR THE PROPER SIGNOFF.
