Narrative:
I had done an ILS to runway 2L at bna and gone missed. I was getting vectored back around for another approach to the same runway. I was on an extended right downwind leg, probably about 5 mi off the approach path for the ILS runway 2L at 3000 ft and the RVR dropped below minimums. I told the controller I wanted to hold and wait for the RVR to come back up. He told me to turn left towards the NDB. I read back left turn but turned right approximately 60 degrees towards the approach course and stayed on that heading for about 1 min until the controller told me I should've turned left and to turn left. I did without incident. (I didn't know where the NDB was. I should've asked for a specific heading before I turned.) I was also distraction because of the missed approach and reconfiguring the aircraft for another approach.

Title: A COMMERCIAL INST RATED PLT FLYING A PA31 ON A CARGO FLT FAILS TO FOLLOW ATC INSTRUCTION RESULTING IN A TRACK DEV AT BNA.
Narrative: I HAD DONE AN ILS TO RWY 2L AT BNA AND GONE MISSED. I WAS GETTING VECTORED BACK AROUND FOR ANOTHER APCH TO THE SAME RWY. I WAS ON AN EXTENDED R DOWNWIND LEG, PROBABLY ABOUT 5 MI OFF THE APCH PATH FOR THE ILS RWY 2L AT 3000 FT AND THE RVR DROPPED BELOW MINIMUMS. I TOLD THE CTLR I WANTED TO HOLD AND WAIT FOR THE RVR TO COME BACK UP. HE TOLD ME TO TURN L TOWARDS THE NDB. I READ BACK L TURN BUT TURNED R APPROX 60 DEGS TOWARDS THE APCH COURSE AND STAYED ON THAT HDG FOR ABOUT 1 MIN UNTIL THE CTLR TOLD ME I SHOULD'VE TURNED L AND TO TURN L. I DID WITHOUT INCIDENT. (I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THE NDB WAS. I SHOULD'VE ASKED FOR A SPECIFIC HDG BEFORE I TURNED.) I WAS ALSO DISTR BECAUSE OF THE MISSED APCH AND RECONFIGURING THE ACFT FOR ANOTHER APCH.
