Narrative:
There was a stuck microphone. We returned to previous frequency with ZME. At the time we were being vectored by ZID for spacing into cvg. We got a call from mem to descend immediately to FL270. At the same time we got a TCASII TA. We descended quickly to FL270. We never got a TCASII RA. After landing, called ZID and talked to ATC mgrs, discussed the loss of traffic separation. In my opinion, ZID frequency was very busy at the time. But they needed to get people on a different frequency. I don't know what goes on in the center, but I hope there are procedures in place to get vector airplanes out of trouble or on the new frequency to avoid conflicts of this type. I'm glad we were with ZME and we have TCASII. The call from mem and our TCASII got us out of harm's way.
