Narrative:
The B737 aircraft returned to field with high oil temperature in #2 engine after MEL was accomplished for right engine anti-ice. It was determined the wrong valve (fuel/oil heat) was safetied open and cannon plug tied back instead of engine anti-ice valve in the same general location of 11 O'clock position. Both valves have the same part number and not easily viewed with engine cowl opened. The correct anti-ice valve was then safety wired open and fuel/oil heat valve restored to service. Aircraft was then dispatched on its original flight.
