Narrative:
Due to an error in crew coordination, the wrong routing was entered into the FMS system, resulting in aircraft proceeding along in wrong routing for a short period of time. Error was caught by ATC and corrected by crew. At no time was there a safety risk or traffic conflict. This was a case of crew misinterpreting a clearance and entering a 'computer' flight plan into the FMS instead of the actual cleared routing.
