Narrative:
During visual approach following B737 to airport encountered significant roll due to wake turbulence. Aircraft approximately 2 1/2 mi ahead. Large aileron and rudder inputs needed to stop roll and right aircraft. This event has demonstrated to me a need for increased separation following the new generation B737's.
