Narrative:

En route to montreal, a fuel stop was needed. Ekn was a good stop and according to the WX information received that morning, it would be a decent pit stop. Entering IMC into ekn, the turbulence was moderate to heavy and the rain was heavy also. Approach asked what type approach I wanted and I asked for VOR. The VOR into ekn was no longer published. With the help of ATC we were vectored towards clarksburg, wv, and the airport was found visually. A misunderstanding occurred with my employer. Proper plates and charts were supposed to be provided to me. They were not! The WX crept up, turning into IMC and an expectation was made that a visual approach could be accomplished easily. A great lesson was learned to always have the proper approach plates and double-, triple- and quadruple-check the WX while en route. This will never happen again while I am acting PIC.
