Narrative:
The clearance was very confusing from toronto. The way he issued it was to cross fix at 10000 ft and then the profile descent. When in fact what was meant was cross the last fix on the profile, descend to runway 24 at 10000 ft 'following the profile descent.' center asked us why we deviated from the profile descent and after we explained he said that they just changed the way they issue the clearance and that it is causing a lot of confusion and we were not the first to deviate from what was meant. I feel this should be changed right away.
