Narrative:
Upon approach to dfw, flaps could not be deployed either normally or electrically through the abnormal procedure. I declared an emergency, requested runway 17R and requested the crash fire rescue equipment equipment as a precaution. Approach was normal. Albeit, faster than usual. No adverse characteristics were encountered. The landing was made at the touchdown zone and a turnoff was made just past mid-field. Passenger were advised of the nature of the problem prior to landing. Flight attendants were counseled and it was discussed that there was to be no evacuate/evacuation expected. Brake temperatures were normal taxiing into the gate.
