Narrative:
For center tank underwing indicator deferral you need to verify that certain change order auths are completed/not completed. I believe that the MEL is very unclr on the matter and should state how to verify the change order auths have/have not been completed. The format in the computer I used apparently was not the proper format, thus the deferral was not legal. This was discovered by line maintenance a full day later. Actions were taken at 2 different stations to fix problem. I believe that future problems could be avoided if the MEL stated where to look for completion of change order auths.
