Narrative:
After a departure from hef, the tower approved a nwbound turnout. Due to the pilot side HSI being in gyro versus slave position, I erred and penetrated an outer limit of the class B airspace by approximately 2 NM and 200-300 ft. As a side note, the controller was so busy admonishing me she was of no value to correct the situation and subsequently punished me by a series of punitive headings and altitudes prior to putting us back on a variation of on-course. Shame on me and shame on her. Thanks for the service, I believe it to be valuable and worthwhile. P.south. I contacted the dulles approach controller(south) and was advised by the supervisor this was going nowhere reference enforcement, just thought you would like to know.

Title: PLT WANDERED INTO CLASS B AIRSPACE WHILE OPERATING WITH A COMPASS THAT WAS NOT SLAVED. CTLR INTERVENED WITH HDG AND ALT CHANGES AND AN ATTITUDE.

SHAME ON ME AND SHAME ON HER. THANKS FOR THE SVC, I BELIEVE IT TO BE VALUABLE AND WORTHWHILE. P.S. I CONTACTED THE DULLES APCH CTLR(S) AND WAS ADVISED BY THE SUPVR THIS WAS GOING NOWHERE REF ENFORCEMENT, JUST THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.
