Narrative:
I was in my VOR B approach to 7b2. Once below the clouds VFR, controller asked me to cancel in the air or on the ground. I replied that I had the field in sight and I wanted to cancel my IFR then and there and switch frequencys to 1200 code. I thought he agreed. When on the ground, I got a call from the supervisor. He did not know I had canceled. The controller was very busy. Next time I'll doublechk that I am canceled.

Title: A MOONEY M20 PLT WAS ASKED TO CALL ZBW AFTER LNDG AT 7B2 ABOUT CANCELING IFR CLRNC.
Narrative: I WAS IN MY VOR B APCH TO 7B2. ONCE BELOW THE CLOUDS VFR, CTLR ASKED ME TO CANCEL IN THE AIR OR ON THE GND. I REPLIED THAT I HAD THE FIELD IN SIGHT AND I WANTED TO CANCEL MY IFR THEN AND THERE AND SWITCH FREQS TO 1200 CODE. I THOUGHT HE AGREED. WHEN ON THE GND, I GOT A CALL FROM THE SUPVR. HE DID NOT KNOW I HAD CANCELED. THE CTLR WAS VERY BUSY. NEXT TIME I'LL DOUBLECHK THAT I AM CANCELED.
