Narrative:
At mia, cleared to taxi to runway 9L via taxiway P.' approaching intersection of txwys P and Z, I confirmed verbally with the first officer that we were going to runway 9L. The first officer called the tower to which the controller responded that we were already past the hold short line. We were well short of the 'normal' visual hold short point. I followed the route on the 10-9 page for which there is no indication of a nonstandard hold short point. Supplemental information from acn 440060: the captain did not notice the line since it was so far back from runway.
