Narrative:

3 aviation safety inspectors came up for a base inspection. During the inspection, the following discrepancies were discovered by the 2 maintenance inspectors on the aircraft in question: incomplete passenger briefing cards, a broken latch securing the fire extinguisher, the r-hand door stop missing, the push-to-talk wire hanging loose, and the r-hand hoisting eye loose. The flight inspector then asked the maintenance inspector if the aircraft was fit to fly. The inspector made no corrective actions, nor did he request any corrective actions be taken for these discrepancies. He then conducted 2 separate check rides (135.293A/B and 135.299) in the aircraft in question. In addition, he acted as PIC of this aircraft and did 3 takeoffs and lndgs, to meet his own flight currency on floats. The flight inspector observed my passenger briefing and noted that I neglected to brief the passenger on the use of the floatation devices. I agreed, and before takeoff, completed this portion of the briefing. 3 days later, our director of operations was called and told by the flight inspector that I may have been in violation for operating an unairworthy aircraft and for an incomplete passenger briefing.

Title: FAA INSPECTORS NOTED SEVERAL ERRORS ON A C185 AT 52B. BOTH THE FAA INSPECTORS AND THE PLT OPERATED THE ACFT AFTER THE INSPECTION.

Narrative: 3 AVIATION SAFETY INSPECTORS CAME UP FOR A BASE INSPECTION. DURING THE INSPECTION, THE FOLLOWING DISCREPANCIES WERE DISCOVERED BY THE 2 MAINT INSPECTORS ON THE ACFT IN QUESTION: INCOMPLETE PAX BRIEFING CARDS, A BROKEN LATCH SECURING THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER, THE R-HAND DOOR STOP MISSING, THE PUSH-TO-TALK WIRE HANGING LOOSE, AND THE R-HAND HOISTING EYE LOOSE. THE FLT INSPECTOR THEN ASKED THE MAINT INSPECTOR IF THE ACFT WAS FIT TO FLY. THE INSPECTOR MADE NO CORRECTIVE ACTIONS, NOR DID HE REQUEST ANY CORRECTIVE ACTIONS BE TAKEN FOR THESE DISCREPANCIES. HE THEN CONDUCTED 2 SEPARATE CHK RIDES (135.293A/B AND 135.299) IN THE ACFT IN QUESTION. IN ADDITION, HE ACTED AS PIC OF THIS ACFT AND DID 3 TKOFS AND LNDGS, TO MEET HIS OWN FLT CURRENCY ON FLOATS. THE FLT INSPECTOR OBSERVED MY PAX BRIEFING AND NOTED THAT I NEGLECTED TO BRIEF THE PAX ON THE USE OF THE FLOATATION DEVICES. I AGREED, AND BEFORE TKOF, COMPLETED THIS PORTION OF THE BRIEFING. 3 DAYS LATER, OUR DIRECTOR OF OPS WAS CALLED AND TOLD BY THE FLT INSPECTOR THAT I MAY HAVE BEEN IN VIOLATION FOR OPERATING AN UNAIRWORTHY ACFT AND FOR AN INCOMPLETE PAX BRIEFING.
