Narrative:
Approved a pointout on a climbing sbound aircraft X who was well east of his filed route of flight. Upon initial contact with the northbound aircraft I was working (aircraft Y), issued a crossing restr after searching for conflicting traffic, and upon pilot's request. When I noticed the conflict, turns were issued to both aircraft and traffic called. Turns were not initiated in enough time to avoid loss of separation.
