Narrative:
MD80 (aircraft Y) wbound at FL250. LR35 (aircraft X) nwbound climbing out of FL240 to FL280. At check-in on my frequency, I advised LR35 to maintain FL240 and called traffic. MD80 climbed in response to TCASII RA. Targets merged with about 600 ft altitude difference.
