Narrative:
On rotation, right engine failed. Speed was about 145 KTS. Flew profile for clean-up and landed at miramar, nkx. Declared an emergency with san tower. Crash fire rescue equipment equipment at miramar. Aircraft was stopped on runway to determine condition of engine and aircraft. Did not do a ground evacuate/evacuation. Departed via stars to busses and returned to san. Supplemental information from acn 441162: flight departing san for dfw. I was the first officer flying. On takeoff roll at vr, as nose was lifting off, a bang sound was noted and a slight veer to the right. Vectors for nkx were received.
