Narrative:
ATC facility: tocumen tower, mpto. Location: runway 3R. On takeoff from pty runway 3R, about midfield at rotation, a flock of birds flew up from the runway. Just airborne, we hit at least 1 bird on the top of the fuselage just above the captain's windscreen. All other indications were normal. We continued to miami. Pty operations found several dead birds on runway. I notified dispatch via ACARS free text message. There were no bird strike forms in operations when we got to mia. Please use this report in lieu of the official bird strike report. Supplemental information from acn 441180: captain flying, slowed rotation to fly under flock as much as possible. No abnormal indications on either engine.
