Narrative:

I was asked to do a transit check on aircraft xyz, which included servicing of oils. I added oil to the #1 engine and closed the cowling and signed the logbook. I was informed the next day that aircraft xyz lost oil on the way to lax from ZZZ. It is possible that the oil cap for the main oil tank had a damaged o-ring or was improperly installed, or was defective. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the #1 engine was svced to full 16 quarts and the cap was secured. The reporter said the engine operated for approximately 5 hours and used 8 quarts of oil. The reporter said he was informed the engine lost the oil and allegations have been made that the cap was not secure when departing ZZZ. The reporter stated if the cap was off or not locked the engine oil would have been lost completely within 30 mins.
