Narrative:
I requested a vector and class B clearance, which I was given (direct lax at 4.5) and was following. When given frequency change, the next controller questioned this, was clearly irritated and directed me to intercept and proceed inbound on the smo 132 degree radial, which I did. Then, direct topanga at 4.5 direct gmn at 10.5 direct merced and stopped for fuel.
