Narrative:
During flight from bna to lax I lost the #2 compass system. After discussion with dispatch, we decided not to divert for this one problem. After approximately 30 mins we started to lose other system, ie, autoplt and flight director. At this time I diverted into dfw. An emergency was declared for an overweight landing. The landing was smooth. Appropriate logbook entries were made and flight crew and attendants continued to lax on another aircraft.
