Narrative:
We were getting ready for takeoff, engines at full power then they suddenly stopped. The captain makes announcement going back to gate, because a caution light on instrument panel went on. Did not hear anything unusual. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the reason they suddenly stopped was there was a banging noise heard in the back by the aft flight attendants. It turns out there was something wrong with one of the engines, so the plane taxied back to the gate and was then taken OTS.
