Narrative:
El paso ground cleared me to taxi to runway 26L for takeoff. I felt that I should get onto the runway as soon as I could so I would not hold up the airliner behind me. I did not see the lights on the right side of the aircraft because they were hidden from view. My passenger said in a calm voice 'there is a light.' I felt a bump. When I looked back I saw a light sheared off at the ground. I taxied back to the run-up area and checked my aircraft for damage. The only damage was some scrapes on the left wheel cover. I then told the tower.
